Challenge juli en augustus

Hier is mijn inspiratie voor de maand juli en augustus.

Het thema is vakantie.

Challenge # 98 and the winner is.........

Ook afgelopen maand hebben jullie weer met prachtige inzendingen mee gedaan, en daarmee het mij erg lastig gemaakt om een keuze te maken. Hieronder zie je mijn favorieten waarmee ik niet wil zeggen dat ik de andere kaarten niet mooi vind. 

You all made great artwork for this months Art Journey challenge. Saying that, that made it very difficult to choose which ones are my favorites. But here goes..... and that doesn't mean that I don't like the other cards.

Monique Eding gebruikt in deze taghoesje zulke prachtige kleuren waarin 1 van onze bestsellers: Umbrella Girl centraal staat. Prachtig!

Mia Robben gebruikt ook heerlijke heldere kleuren en ik vind de combi van deze stempels geniaal gevonden. Ben denkt aan zijn lieve vriendin denk ik. Zij heeft de sleutel van zijn hart gekregen.

Diana Verhoeven heeft een prachtige compositie gemaakt met o.a. mijn lievelings sheet Crows. 

Regina de Koning maakte deze kaarten in een andere vorm die erg tot mijn verbeelding spreekt. Ook een leuke combi van stempels met de sterren (Stars) erbij!

Ik vind de combinatie van stempels ook hier erg mooi waarbij onze Art Journey kat (cat frame) centraal staat. Er is veel te kijken en de kleuren zijn erg mooi. Alida van harte gefeliciteerd!! Stuur je even een mailtje naar info@artjourney.nl zodat ik je een kortingscode kan toesturen?

Verlenging Challenge juli/ Prolongation Challenge July: make a card for a man

Eigenlijk hadden we besloten om in de maand augustus geen challenge te organiseren daar er zoveel mensen op vakantie zijn. Maar toen bedachten we: waarom niet de challenge van juli verlengen? Dan  heeft iedereen die nog mee wil doen even tijd en valt er geen gat. Zo gezegd, zo gedaan: De Challenge, een kaart voor een man wordt met een maand verlengd, dus de deadline is niet 28 juli, maar 28 augustus. Heb je al meegedaan? Misschien heb je nog inspiratie voor nog een kaart? Heb je nog niet meegedaan? Dit is je kans, je hebt immers nog een hele maand de tijd! Post je kaart op onze Art Journey Facebook Challenge pagina of onder het bericht in deze link.

The idea was not to host a challenge in August as so many people are on vacation. But then we thought, why not prolong the July challenge? In that way we're not creating a gap, and people who have not found the time yet, still can join in. Mini Boekje

Voor de challenge van deze maand, alles is vierkant maakte ik dit mini boekje,(want ik ben gek op boekjes;0) van 5x5 cm,ik gebruikte alleen stempels van Art Journey,

ik sneed 2 kartonnetjes van 5x5cm en de rug 2.5x5 cm, ik maakte het aan elkaar met zwarte boekbinders linnen, knipte 2 strookjes papier van restjes van de gelli plate  7x6 cm, en bestempelde ze, voor binnenin sneed ik een strook, ook een restje van de gelli plate van 50x5 cm en rilde het op elke 5 cm. en vouwde het om en om en bestempelde het ook. Plakte het aan de binnenkant vast aan beide kanten.Op de rug plakte ik nog de tekst Art. Om het dicht te maken gebruikte ik een dun draadje en strikte het.

Ik zou zeggen ga er ook een maken is zo leuk en eenvoudig om te doen!!

Onder elke foto heb ik de gebruikte stempels beschreven!

For this month's challenge (all is square), I made this 5 x 5 cm mini book (I love books, lol!). I only used Art Journey stamps.

I cut two pieces of cardboard (5 x 5 cm) for the covers and one piece for the back (2,5 x 5 cm). I attached them together with black bookbinders linen. For the covers I cut two strips of gelli plate papers (7 x 6 cm) and stamped on them. For the inside I cut a long strip, als from gelli plate paper (50 x 5 cm), scored and folded every 5 cms and stamped on the little pages. Glued it on the inside of the cover at front and back. On the back I glued the word ART. To close the booklet I used a piece of string.

Challenge #79: Verhuizen/ To move.

Deze maand mag ik het thema aanleveren. Vanwege de recente ingrijpende verplaatsing van mijn vader van Delft naar Zuidlaren, wordt het: VERHUIZEN

Het komt dus heel goed uit dat we een prachtige nieuwe stempelsheet hebben met grachtenpandjes. Deze past uitstekend bij het thema.

En hoe bijzonder is het dat we ook voor deze maand nog een kaart van Jeanette hebben?

My father recently moved to my village to be near his (grand)children. So this month's challenge will be: TO MOVE!

,Stempelen' met je acrylblok

Onlangs heb ik 5 workshops gegeven in Finland, met héél veel Art Journey stempels mee in mijn koffer, en een van de technieken die we daar hebben gedaan is deze: een achtergrond maken van een beïnkt acrylblok die je als ,stempel' gebruikt. Dit waren 3 van mijn voorbeelden !

Guest Designer: Paula Whittaker

Vandaag laten we een gast aan het woord: Paula Whittaker. Paula was ooit een vast lid van ons designteam maar moest ons helaas verlaten. Maar voor vandaag is zij terug van weggeweest en laat ons weer prachtig werk zien.

Today we wan't to say hi to a guest designer: Paula Whittaker. Paula used to be one of our regular disignteammembers but had to leave us for personal reasons. But now she is back for a visit and show's us her great work.

I was asked to write a small introduction about myself, this usually scares me silly but here goes....I'm Paula, I'm 43, I live in the UK with my husband and our 18 year old cat Jess. I started card making in 2004 and was instantly drawn to paper, ink and stamps. I've been exceptionally fortunate to have been published in UK and US magazines since 2005. I was also very lucky to have been part of the Art Journey DT a while back, that was a dream come true as I adore their stamp designs, they are so versatile and can be used for CAS and mixed media creations.

Paula, thanks for your great work! We hope to see you again here some day soon!
